Ordering from Barewalls Interactive Art is easy and safe.

The Shopping Cart

Once you've found a print you'd like, add it to your shopping cart by clicking on "Add to Cart." You can always access your shopping cart by clicking on the cart icon at the top right of the window. If you want us to frame or mount your print, you can choose the service options you want before adding it to your cart (you can also change them later if you wish). If a service is not listed with a print, it is because Barewalls does not offer that service for that particular print.

If you want to order more than one copy of a print, first click on the "Add to Cart" button. You will be taken to your shopping cart page, where you can set the quantity to however many you want. Click "Recalculate" to update the cart.

From the cart, you can change the service options for each item by clicking on "change service details," or remove an item by setting it's quantity to zero and clicking "Recalculate."

Barewalls Interactive Art uses 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption software. For further information, please see the Barewalls Security section.

Barewalls currently offers a number of options for framing:

Barewalls Interactive Art offers a selection of high-quality, elegant framing choices at affordable prices

Featuring 3/8" designer metal or 3/4" to 1 5/8" wood mouldings, the Barewalls frames come in a variety of colors and finishes. You can also choose an optional white or off-white mat, or a double-mat that includes a colored accent selected by the Barewalls framing staff to complement your particular image. If you prefer to select your own mat colors we can accommodate virtually any special request -- just enter your preferences into the order form's special instructions field.

Each print is cropped to the image, mounted onto acid-free foam-board to prevent creasing and warping, and glazed using picture-grade framer's Plexiglass offering UV protection. If you decide to go with matting, it is important to note that this service will add five to ten inches to both the height and width of the original print. All frames ship ready-to-hang and include the necessary hardware.

    Upgrade Your Shipping

    Rush shipping is available for any shipping address within the continental United States for a flat rate $25 charge. When this option is selected, your order will be delivered via 2-Day U.P.S. or FedEx service.

    Framed Items

    For the first item only, there is a shipping fee of $14.45 per item in the contiguous United States and $26.70 per item in Canada. All non-continental United States addresses, the shipping fee is $21.50 per item. Each additional framed item is $6.95 each. Additionally, an oversize shipping surcharge of $24.95 in the contiguous United States and $49.95 per order also applies to all non-continental U.S. and Canadian addressed orders for items that are greater than 40" in either length or width. Please allow two additional weeks for delivery.

    Please Note: Customs duties and other import taxes on orders shipped outside the United States are the responsibility of the customer. Barewalls Interactive Art shipping fees do not include taxes or importing fees of any kind.

    Non-standard Shipping

    If you wish to use a different shipper, Barewalls can send it with the shipper of your choice. You should contact us as soon as possible and we will include the account number of the service you wish to use and adjust the shipping cost accordingly.

    Please note: the minimum processing time remains approximately five business days for plain prints. Framing orders take approximately three-to-five weeks until delivery.

  • Credit Cards

    Barewalls support the following credit card types for orders paid in U.S. currency:

    Visa
    Master Card
    American Express
    Discover

    If you pay by credit card, you pay only when your order ships. We will authorize the charge when you place your order, but only charge the card when your order ships.

    If you use a debit card to pay for your order, the amount of the order may be withdrawn from your account upon authorization (i.e., when you place your order) and held by the card issuer until such time as the card is charged or the authorization is voided or expires.


    Alternative Payment

    Barewalls also accept checks (personal checks are just fine), money orders and wire transfers.

    We recommend money orders over checks—we will process an order paid for by a money order or certified check upon receipt of payment; orders paid for by check will be processed when the check clears. Barewalls Interactive Art only accepts these methods of payment in U.S. currency. All alternative payments are received through the Barewalls head office, details are found in the Barewalls contact section.

    Please note: All Barewalls gift certificates are redeemable only once and may not be used in conjunction with other Barewalls discounts or promotions unless otherwise indicated on the life.barewalls.com site. Barewalls gift certificates may not be redeemed for cash, or be used to purchase other gift certificates. Any unused portion of a gift certificate will be applied in full as store credit to the customer's account.

    How to use your gift certificate to make a purchase:
    (1) Browse life.barewalls.com and select the items you wish to purchase in your shopping cart.

    (2) Proceed to the checkout page (you can use the express checkout feature if you have ordered from life.barewalls.com before and created an account.)

    (3) Enter your shipping information into the checkout form - provide your gift certificate number in the "Gift Certificate/Coupon Information" field at the bottom of the order form.

    (4) Continue through the checkout process - you will be asked to provide additional payment information if the final total of your order exceeds the credit available from your gift certificate.

    (5) Confirm your order information and revised final total, all credits will be deducted and you will have the opportunity to confirm the invoice information before submitting your order.
    How do I use more than one gift certificate at once?

    You can keep track of your orders, shipping addresses, and stored payment information in the on-line tracking area.

    Online Tracking

    After you have placed your order you will be able to log in using your order number and one other piece of identifying information (your ZIP code, phone number, or email address). We will email you a notification when your order ships, including your tracking number (if applicable).

    Your Barewalls Interactive Art Account

    For your convenience, we are able to keep your contact, shipping, and billing information on file. You may then order without having to fill out all the forms — just select the shipping address and billing method from your list. Your information is kept strictly confidential (for more information please see the Barewalls privacy policy), and is protected by firewalls and other means.

    Contact Information

    Your contact information is the information we need in order to reach you with information concerning your order.

    Profile

    Your profile contains general information about you. We use this information to get an idea of who Barewalls' customers are so that we can provide products and services you might be interested in. This information is not required, but it is appreciated.

    Address Information

    You can store several shipping addresses (for example, a home address, a work address, or the address of a friend or relative). These can be changed or deleted at any time (see below).

    Credit Card Information

    You can store several credit cards (for example, a personal card and a company card). These can be changed or deleted at any time (see below).

    Editing Your Information

    You can edit or delete the information you have provided at any time by logging into your account. Just below each entry are links that allow you to edit or delete that entry. We can also make the changes for you—just contact the Barewalls customer service department and let them know of about changes you would like us to make.

    Delays

    We will try to inform you of any anticipated delays in the completion of your order, and we check continuously for orders that may have slipped through a crack. However, if your order is taking longer than expected, and you haven't heard from us please feel free to contact us.

    If your order has been delayed in shipment please let us know — we may have more success getting it back on track — or if it appears to have been lost or damaged we can begin reprocessing your order immediately.

    Availability

    We do our best to keep the information on the Barewalls site up-to-date, but there is usually a delay of at least a day between an item going out of stock and the Barewalls database being updated. There is a small chance that a print listed on this site is actually out of stock.

    If a print you order is out of stock we will back order it for you (i.e. we will keep the order active and ship your order complete when the missing print is back in stock). We rely on information from publishers to know when a print will be back in stock, and we try to pass on as much of this information to Barewalls' customers. Unfortunately this information is not always available, and even when it is available it is not always accurate.

    Partial Shipments

    If an item remains back ordered for more than two weeks we will automatically ship whatever prints in your order are in stock and keep any other items on back order.

    Automatic Cancellation

    If an item remains back ordered for more that six weeks we will automatically cancel the order for that print unless you specify otherwise.

    Shipping Problems

    Barewalls' shippers are quite reliable, but occasionally an order is lost or damaged in transit.

    Lost Shipments

    We will reprocess your order as soon as we have determined that it has been lost. For traceable shipments, we will have an inquiry initiated, and if the shipper cannot locate the parcel we will reship. If the shipment is international, it may take several weeks before determining that the package has been lost. In either case, we will handle any paperwork required by the shipper and if the shipment is deemed lost, we will reship your order as quickly as possible.

    Damaged Shipments

    If you receive a damaged package, please refuse delivery and contact us as soon as possible. We will reship your order and file any necessary paperwork.

    If you don't have a chance to refuse a damaged package, or if the package is not damaged but the order inside is, contact us as soon as possible so that we can reprocess your order right away. The shipper may wish to inspect the damaged package or goods, so please keep the package and its contents for at least two weeks (we also may wish to retrieve the order, but probably not).

    If there is damage to a frame, but not to the print, we may retrieve the item to have it re-framed — this is faster than reprocessing your order.

    Processing Errors

    As soon as you complete your purchase you will receive a confirmation page containing all your order information, and if you provide your email address we will also email you a confirmation. Please check that the information we have reflects exactly what you want. If you spot an error, please contact us immediately and we will correct it.

    Since we deal with so many different products and options, the occasional mistake is made. If you receive the wrong print, or a service has been applied incorrectly, please contact us as soon as possible — we will correct the mistake as soon as possible.

    Do you have a printed catalog of your prints?

    The Barewalls Interactive Art database contains listings for thousands of art prints, and this database is growing and being updated on a daily basis. Barewalls' inventory is many times larger than what one might find in a physical print store, or even a typical publishing house. A printed version of the Barewalls catalog would be not only impossibly large, but it would be out of date almost immediately after its ink had dried. For this reason, we do not offer a printed version of the Barewalls catalog.

    With the increasing ease and ubiquity of connecting to and ordering items over the Internet, we at Barewalls Interactive Art feel that we can serve Barewalls customers best by expanding and improving on the Barewalls online catalog. Please bookmark this site and tell your friends about us. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we ship worldwide.

    A note to Massachusetts residents— we do not have a physical storefront which you can visit. We rely on numerous warehouses around the United States to make sure we can fill your orders promptly, and do not stock any merchandise at Barewalls' Sharon location.

    Can you give me some information concerning a certain image?

    When viewing the details of a certain artwork, we often include information about the original work and the artist(s) who created it. This information is accumulated over an extended period of time, and we welcome any remarks or suggestions regarding the background, history, facts, interpretation or context of any artwork that is featured in the Barewalls Interactive Art database. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to answer all of the art history questions that you may have. If you would like to know more about a certain artist or artwork, we recommend that you visit your local library and/or museum to find out more about the subject that you are interested in.

    What is the size, resolution and quality of your prints?
    (..and why are the images on your site so small and at a low resolution?)


    All of the images that you see on the Barewalls Interactive Art web site are intended merely as elements within a catalog. The images have been down-sampled to a relatively small size and low resolution and are given both visible and invisible digital watermarks, in order to comply with copyright and licensing agreements. These watermarks do not appear anywhere on the final product.

    The actual art prints are quite large and the resolution and quality of the actual art prints is very high—most of them are printed using photographic techniques such as color separations produced from large film transparencies, so that the grain of the photographic print is extremely fine. Printed on thick stock papers with high quality inks, these art prints are ideal for framing and interior decorating purposes.

    Note that prints sold are not exactly as shown — we cannot guarantee that the colors shown on your monitor will properly represent the print, as each computer monitor is calibrated differently. Also, the digital scans and photographs used to display the items on this site may suffer from distortion or color alteration — we do our best to use high quality images, but if in doubt we encourage you to contact us for clarification.

    Size information provided is an approximation only, exact dimensions may vary. Also, publishers may alter prints from time to time without warning. If you receive an item that varies drastically from the preview shown online, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.

    Can I license any of these images from you, and feature them in my own works or publications?

    Barewalls Interactive Art cannot grant any kind of licensing arrangement for the use of the images featured on its site. All artworks are protected by international copyright laws (see the Barewalls copyright notice and disclaimer). In order to reproduce a specific image, you must first contact the owners of the artwork. In many cases, this will be the museum or foundation which owns the work of art.
